Girl with shopaholic tendancies.

February 26th, 2006

It’s been a pretty relaxed weekend, yet still quite busy! Rob and I went and saw Big Momma’s House 2 on Friday night. Was quite funny in parts.. but sequels are never as good!
On Saturday I went out to see Rob’s cricket game, they lost, which was a bit of s shock… none of them were too happy afterwards! And it was bloody freezing!!
That night I went to see Brokeback Mountain with Jo, her mum, her cousin and Sarina. It was good! I know many guys wont see it.. but it was real good. I hated the bit where ******************************************** :(.
Today I went shopping with Jo in Newmarket. I wasn’t supposed to buy anything… was just looking for Jo! But ahem… no.. $97.00 later.. I have purchased a new pair of sunglasses, a book (The Devil wears Prada) and a bra and matching knickers. lol.

shopping

The bra and knickers have remained in the bag.. as this is a PG rated site.. LOL. They’re just black, kinda lacy! That’s all you need to know :D

I also weighed in at Jo’s and lost 1/2 a kilo, so have updated my weight chart below.

Off to Uni tomorrow!! First day.. I’m kinda nervous.. but I’m sure I’ll be fine :D Don’t start ’til 12pm!

Hmm slow week.

February 23rd, 2006

Well not a lot has happened lately. Just a typical week. I’ve had work everyday, as you do.

I went to a movie on Tuesday night with some friends, an American one called Happy Endings, one of those Sundance Fesitval type ones. Had quite a few stars though; Lisa Kudrow, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Tom Arnold and that guy from Swimfan. I thought it was pretty good - but not as good as No.2. The NZ one.

Last night I played tennis, I won my singles but lost my doubles. I don’t think my doubles partner really likes tennis? lol. She doesn’t put in much effort.. kinda annoys me sometimes!

Today I have to go to my Uni and sign a form saying that I agree with the papers they have me listed for.. not exciting, but I guess it’s important.

I’m not really sure what I’m doing this weekend. Play it by ear I guess. Oh, probably will see that Brokeback Mountain movie with Jo at some stage! It looks good! :)

My friend Jo gave me the great idea to add one of these to my site.. it will make me stick to it more - as I will want to make the scales move along the little line.. hehe. I will post it once a week on a Monday. Because it’s a new code everytime you change it anyway. So it wont just update if I stick it somewhere!

I had a nice slow weekend, as I said I would. Stayed home Friday night and mellowed. lol.
Went to see Rob’s cricket on Saturday - got a nice tan aswell! Saturday night I went to Jo’s and watched a couple of weird DVDs!
Sunday I went shopping for a bit, cleaned my room, washed my sheets, then went to the Devonport Food & Wine festival with Jo and Sarina. Which was a complete rip off! Don’t go people! You have to pay $25 to get in. Then you get a SMALL glass of wine free (however we went at about 3pm and didn’t seem to get our SMALL free glass of wine - maybe they ran out?). Then all food and wine costs money! What a rip! Of course it all goes to charity… but still a rip off.
Then after that sucked we went back to my house and played board games. LOL. Balderdash and Battle of the sexes, yes, even though we’re all girls. Was still fun!

So I’m back at work now… Monday!! For my last full week of work before Uni!! :D

Sick!

February 17th, 2006

Ahhhhhh I’ve been sick for like the last four days!! It’s driving me insane. At first I had some Codrals (which clear you all up - so there’s no snotty’s or anything), but now I’m all out of them and my cold hasn’t left! My ears feel like they’re completely blocked, my nose is blocked up for half the day then runny for the other half. My throat is kinda tickly and irritating… AHH don’t you just hate being sick!?
I blame Dannie… at my work… she got the flu.. and she’s shared it with us all! Another girl at work has caught it. I’ve passed it onto my friend Jo.. just seems to spread so easily! It’s supposed to be summer! And now I can’t stop coughing! grr… I’ve already had 2.5 days off this week.. 1.5 days I was sick and 1 for my exam.. so thought I should come for a full day today!

In other news, I had my Intro. to Financial Accounting exam yesterday.. it was hard! I wont lie. I’m not really sure how I went.. I never can tell. I’m just glad, because that means that the summer school paper is over and I’m on to full time Uni from the 27th of February.

Haven’t got a lot planned for this weekend.. I need a lazy/cheap one; a) because I’m still sick, so really don’t feel like going out drinking or anything. b) because I haven’t organised anyone to do anything and lastly c) because I need to save money!

Still going well with the weight loss thing and adding up my weight watchers points daily! I think I’ve lost a total of about 3 kg now. Can’t really remember - but at least I know I’ve lost some. Going to Jo’s house on Sunday again to weigh in! Hope it’s good!

Hotel rooms and Chinese lanterns.

February 12th, 2006

We had a great time in town last night! And the hotel room that Max and Jo had was lovely! I have taken a few pictures of us in there and the bathroom…because it was gorgeous!
So Sarina and I drunk a couple of bottles of wine between us and got Jo ready for her dinner/prizegiving do for Max. It was quite fun!
Here’s some pictures of the main lobby and bathroom in the Sky City Grand Hotel.

Me at Skycity Jo & Sarina Skycity bathroom

Jo and Max headed off to their do, then went to the cassino afterwards. Sarina and I went down to the Viaduct and had a great time in a few of the bars. We didn’t get back to Jo’s house until after 4am. The soles of my feet hurt quite a bit now from my shoes. And I woke up at bloody 8.30am!! Only 4.5 hours sleep… I had quite a bit of a headache too.. haha. I’m starting to feel very tired now…early night tonight!

I just got home from the Lantern festival. It’s gorgeous! Of course they woul look better in the dark..but we need an early night - so didn’t hang around ’til late. I was just expecting round lanterns but they’re all different shapes and sizes! So much happening… all the food smelt wonderful and the atmosphere is just awesome!! I’m getting my family to come along next year! I’ve taken lots of photos of the lanterns and I even bought one! It glows and it’s bright red.. it’s real cute!
Here’s the photos:

And lastly… my $3 lantern..

I’m sick!! I’ve caught someones cold.. I have a blocked nose, I can’t stop sneezing and I just feel ‘blah!’.. the late night probably didn’t help either! So bed time for me now  .

I’m a true believer… that if you actually love someone, you don’t need a specific day picked out for you to show it! It should be shown on a daily basis… now I don’t mean you should take your loved one out to dinner everynight or spoil them with little gifts. Love can be shown in so many other ways.. and can be the smallest thing.. just to lighten up someone’s day. To be honest… for me.. I love hugs and kisses. That’s all I’d need :). Of course.. everyone likes flowers every so often.. but I’d like them on a random day.. not one you could be expecting.

So anyway… the reason I thought of this? We’re supposed to have lawn bowls on Tuesday 14th!! But damn people with partners have decided to pull their teams out… they obviousely have better things to do!! Well I don’t! I wanna play! haha. So we have been postponed until two Tuesday’s later! Ruuude!

I just got home from seeing Jarheads at the movies with Rob. It was ok.. I wouldn’t brag about it.. quite a few funny bits.. but also a few odd scenes.. I won’t explain them, rent it.

Tomorrow night I’m off out clubbing with Sarina and maybe Jo. She’s got a do to go to with her boyfriend. But may catch up with us in town for a drink afterwards! Sarina and I are going shopping with her tomorrow to help her find another skirt to wear, then do her hair and make up for her! :) Exciting girl time! hehe.

On Sunday we’re going to the lantern festival. I shall remember to take my camera to take photos, I’m sure it’ll look gorgeous!
Sarina and I have already decided we aren’t leaving until we have a lantern, whether we buy one.. or steal it! lol. As long as we don’t get snapped….
Edit: Ok.. in regards to the stealing of a lantern or two.. I’ve been informed by Jo that they’re too big! lol.. Not hideable and someone will notice.

And Miss Annabanabobana, I’m emailing you now babe!! Glad to hear you’re ok! Stick around for a bit more aye? hehe :P

A wedding in the near future!!!

February 6th, 2006

As promised, here are my before and after shots of my hair! haha. Big difference huh? I’m never going back to just natural hair! haha. (Before is on the left ;) ) You can click on them for a bigger view!

The BIG NEWS as it says in the title is that there’s a wedding going to happen!!! :D A very close friend of mine; Zarrin (pronounced: Za-reen - she’s Kiwi - just a cool name!) is getting married!! She’s been friends with her fiancé for about a year and dating him for about 10 months. I know it seems sudden, I don’t want everyone’s opinion on it. It’s their desicion and I respect them for it. :)
But YAY! I’m excited for her. I’ve never been to a wedding!! heheh… Hen’s night!

In weight loss news, I’ve lost 1.5kg (3.31 lbs) this week! I’m feeling so great and positive! So I’m really going to stick to it.. because I’m obviousely doing it right now! Counting the points definitely helps!

We had an awesome time at the Zoo on Saturday. And Nesian Mystik (an NZ band) were so good!! I’m going to go out and buy their CD again.. because mine went missing! :( They put on a really good show!

Dinner last night was lovely! Mmmm Japanese food is so good! It’s a Teppan Yaki type meal, which is when they give you rice and vegetables and you select a meat, I had chicken and prawn, and they cook it for you infront of you. So it’s like a meal and entertainment!
The movie we saw afterwards was awesome too! It was called No. 2, it’s a Kiwi movie - so most of you wont know of it. But the exciting bit about it was that we watched the movie down at the harbour on a big blown up screen - outside! lol. It was fun, something new! :)

Well another short week! Haven’t got anything planned for today - I need to clean my room and do some study.. so I suppose I should get onto that!

Feb already!

February 1st, 2006

Shite!! We’re really into 2006 now! And yes, I’m definitely slack, it’s been a week.. but it’s because I’ve told myself I wont blog anymore at work. It’s a bad habit - no ‘net time at work. I also deleted MSN off my work computer - because it’s a distraction and it’s bad to my bosses!

So anywho, what’s happened? Well Friday I stayed home and watched DVDs with my sister. Saturday was mum’s birthday. She went off to her massage in the morning so I went and saw Rob at his cricket game for a bit. They won. As usual. It was weird though, because it didn’t feel the same being there the girls weren’t as friendly as they used to be. I guess that’s normal… That night we went out for mum’s birthday dinner, damn expensive!! So mum paid some towards it and we paid the majority.

Sunday I went Jo’s house and we went out to Albert Park, where there was a concert! It was quite fun, lots of people out in the sun, listening to the music etc.. More people arrived and we all had dinner together, then all went out clubbing! It was absolutely DEAD! I was not amused. Some places were packed - elbow to elbow, others weren’t even open! I guess it’s because of the public holiday and a Sunday.

Monday (Auckland Anniversary - day off) morning we didn’t get up until 10:30am, then went for a walk through the domain to see if there was any cafés around to eat at.
We finally settled on one for brunch. It was lovely, we ended up sitting there for about 2 hours talking!
Monay afternoon was slow, just read my book, then we headed off to dad’s for our usual dinner.

Last night we had bowls again! Wahoo! It was lots of fun. We won one game and lost the other - but we still enjoyed ourselves!

Upcoming for the week:
Thursday: Teresa’s 21st party, she’s hired half a bar for drinks and food.
Friday: Going to see North Country with my sister.
Saturday: Getting my hair done at 9:30am, go see Rob’s cricket for couple of hours, then off to the zoo to visit and for the Nesian Mystik concert.
Sunday: Going to see a movie in the Auckland Viaduct (on a big screen outside). Then off to Daikoku for dinner with friends!!
Monday: Waitangi Day - no work. But nothing planned yet!

So it’s pretty full on for me in the next few days!! YAY :)
