Last weekend before Uni!

April 29th, 2006

Well I’m back to Uni on Monday. Phew! Relax time.. no more 9.5 hour days at work!! I don’t start until 12:00pm on Monday, so I get a nice sleep in. Of course I’m sure I’ll still be working on this damn essay. I’ve been working on it all weekend.. some today, I’m going to try and complete it tomorrow. But I supose I’ll be up early Monday if I don’t finish it tomorrow. It’s due Wednesday.

Well Friday night I rented a couple of DVDs and watched them with my mum and sister. First one was My Neighbour Totoro, it’s Japanese and it’s absolutely gorgeous! Of course we watched it in English though. It was made in 1988, it’s an absolute classic in Japan.. equivalent to Alice in Wonderland to us. It’s a cartoon little Japanese children grew up with. I really recommend you watch it, you’ll love it! I have to make a layout out of it sometime!
We also watched Elizabethtown which was quite sweet, not Orlando or Kirsten’s best movie - but still a sweet one. :)

Tonight I went to see Failure to Launch with my sister Maddie. We weren’t going to go but I realised I had a freebie and it expires tomorrow, so I had to use it! It was so much better and funnier than I expected!! I actually enjoyed it and laughed quite a few times.

Now Runaway Bride has come on TV and it’s 11:08pm so I’m going to put my warm winter PJ’s on and snuggle up in bed and watch it.

Protected: Family crap.

Loving the stat days.

April 25th, 2006

Ahh a day off mid-week is always warmly welcomed :) except for the fact that I am no longer a fulltime employee - I’m a contractor - so I’m not getting paid for it! lol.. grrr… but oh well. We just had the big Easter break last weekend, now ANZAC day off today, so I am enjoying the relax days.
But I’m back to work tomorrow. Three more full days (9.5 hours - need all the money I can get) of work then University starts again on Monday! Woohoo!

I’ve started the dreaded essay now.. but I’m not close to 1500 words. lol. So I’m going to have to go HARDOUT all weekend. It’s due Wednesday 3rd May. So I’ll have enough time to do it.

Sarina and I went to see Ice Age 2 today.. it was SO CUTE! We both loved it - so yes, go out and see it :). So I had popcorn for lunch! Yum!

Here’s something that’ll make you giggle ;)

Is it a gene? Or maybe I have the lazy gene? But no not really.. I’d rather go buy vegetables (for mum) or vacuum the house than start this damn 1500 word essay for Intro to Organisations and Management!! I’ve been putting it off for DAYS now! It’s not due for another couple of weeks.. but I know those weeks will go so fast! Plus I’ll be working fulltime next week - so not much time, but I DO need the money.

I am happy with the working fulltime bit, as I’ll be getting paid my ‘contract’ hourly rate. And I calulated it and I’ll end up with just about how much I used to earn a fortnight as a fulltime employee even though I’ll only be working six days instead of ten!! So I’m chuffed :D lol.
I’m really hoping they have lots of work for me!! I don’t want the day to be slow and boring. I also found out I’ll be the receptionist on Monday as our normal receptionist and the girl who would normally fill in for her are both having the day off. I’m not going ANYWHERE near the filing - I hate it - that’s why I moved up from receptionist to an accountant. But I’ll answer the phone, make morning tea etc. and just do my accounting work at her desk! It’s nice for a change! :)

It’s Rob’s birthday tomorrow!! He’ll be 22! lol.. Old… 22 sounds like a REAL grown up. I’ll be 22 in two months  lol. I have no idea what to get him and I asked him and he said he doesn’t want anything! Grrr. Myabe I’ll just get him a chocolate bar then? lol.

OH - my scarf, remember I said I’d keep you all up-to-date in this post? Well that was 18 days ago. So here’s what my scarf looks like today.

Scarf as at April 19th 2006

So I’ve nearly finished one ball of wool! lol. Only four to go after this one!

Well it’s nearly 11am now.. so I should really go have a shower and get dressed. I suppose I could write a list of facts etc about what to stick in this damn essay - that doesn’t sound too scary! hehe :)

The Wedding

April 16th, 2006

Zarrin’s wedding was absolutely gorgeous! It was so beautiful and the ceremony was lovely. They were lucky, as it was outdoors it was such a wonderful day! The sun shining and very warm.
Zarrin had a really pretty pink satiny dress! Looked so good on her as it was fitted for her figure.
I’m very happy for both Zarrin & Kim they make a very cute couple! All the best to them for the future xxx
Here’s some pictures of the day:

I’m procrastinating…

April 11th, 2006

It’s been a busy week with lots of assignments, studying and tests! So far I have passed everything - so I’m happy! :)
I have set up a University page with results and up coming tests, assignments and exams. It’s really for me to keep track on how I’m going. There’s too many to keep track of!

It’s definitely turning Wintery here now. We have sunny patches each day, but there’s a very cold wind and it rains at least five times a day. It’s freezing right now (5.38pm), night time is definitely colder than it used to be! I’m also wearing jeans on a daily basis now and always put my slippers on when I get home!!

Yesterday I went to see my friend *beep* (don’t want to get her in trouble if someone finds this site) at her shop (not hers, she works there), L’Occitane en Provence. It’s all natural products, no chemicals at all. So I spoiled myself and bought a Visage Face Honey Cream. It’s looooooooovely!! I’ve realised now I’m allergic to all the brands like L’Oreal etc.. I’ve been using them for years and always had a horrible red rash around my nose. But after using the honey based moisturiser for two days the rash has all but vanished! My skin must have been more sensitive than I thought. But I do have to admit I’ve felt a burning tingling feeling with some moisturisers when I first put them on. So now I’m switching to L’Occitane!! Of course, it is pricey; the little tub of 50mL cost NZD$48.50. But luckily.. having someone in the shop I know, it only cost me NZD$22!

I wrote my first post over at Talking Snack about making sushi! So go check it out ;).

Oooh, good news; Thursday is my last Uni day for two weeks! We get a mid-semester break from 14th April to 1st May. YAY. I’ll be working fulltime most days though. But at least I’ll get money!! :D

RIGHT, no-more procrastinating… I need to finish my Business Statistics assignment!
