Playing tourists

Today Rob and I decided we’d go to the museum, because it’s cheap and we were sure they’d updated it with a new feature.
We knew it was a $5 “donation” which is bacially compulsory if you’re an adult, so I got out $20 cash to pay. We were lucky though as the guy who served us didn’t have any change so he put us through for free! Score!
Once in Rob demonstrated to me the ‘museum walk’ we must do. Which involves holding the map/pamphlet behind your back and looking at everything intensly.
I took photos of Rob infront of the Emu, among other things and he took photos of me infront of the Maori court houses, and we wondered if people thought we were foreigners, not just weirdos who have lived in this city our entire 22 years.
It was a good time and took us just over an hour to look through everywhere. My favourites are always the animals and sea life.
We didn’t notice any “new feature” though. There was a bit that had clay pots and other crafts I had never seen before, but I didn’t think they were amazing.
After the museum we walked through the domain to subway for lunch. Yum. I haven’t had it in awhile so it was good.
On the way back to the car, I got this cute capture of us, the best photo of us in a long time.

Aaaw

Now I’m going to bake some more of my special pear shortcake, as we haven’t had it in awhile!
Ewww.. back to work tomorrow.

That’s a really nice photo! What you have to try is staring at a blank wall and just watch people’s reactions. Hahah the museum walk is priceless!

Aww that sounds like such a nice day, even when you live in a certain place sometimes its fun to do tourist-y things :)
