Digital camera frenzy
June 30th, 2007
If you’ve ever visited my site before, you’ll know I have an amateur’s love of photography. In no way am I a professional, I wouldn’t have a clue how to develop a photo in a little red-lit room. But I do love playing around with digital cameras. I love all the different settings and effect you can do. And then to be able to upload it to my computer and website with such ease! Oh true love!
I love to use my Canon Powershot A60 for everyday photo’s as well as special events. I also love to take pictures of food. This would have to be one of my favourite photo’s taken with my digital camera:

I do want a new digital camera at some stage. I want one that takes clearer photos. I don’t have an exact model or make though, I think I need to do some more research!
She’s arrived!
June 28th, 2007
Last night, June 27th, at 9.35pm my friend Zarrin and her husband, Kim, welcomed their new baby girl into the world. I got a text from Zarrin last night to say she had given birth to their beautiful, 3.48kg (7.7lbs) girl at home.
I am so excited to go visit! But she’ll need a bit of space for the first couple of days. She said she’d text again with some visiting days and times.
She didn’t tell me the name they have decided on, I know they had a couple in mind.
Congrats to both Zarrin and Kim!
The pancake competition that didn’t happen…
June 25th, 2007
We had a lovely time on Saturday night. We arrived at the restaurant, Ghengis Khan, and I was suprised to see that Rob had invited some friends of ours along; Dylan & Natalie and Chris & Natalia (yes it gets confusing when you call them both ‘Nat’). So that was a nice touch from Rob. The restaurant is awesome, it’s all-you-can-eat Mongolian BBQ. You fill up a bowl with meats, seafood, rice/noodles and vegetables and take it to the chef’s to cook it on the big hot plate while you watch. It is very filling! You just want to keep trying different variations.
They also have all-you-can-eat pancakes and ice cream for dessert. The guys decided they’d have a competition and see how many they could eat. They picked 20 as very do-able. But I think they only got to three each. So not successful at all, but very fun!
On Saturday night Rob and I went over to Dylan and Nat’s house. Nat and I headed off to see Pirates 3, it was good, but I think it dragged on a bit, not as good as the first one. The boys stayed behind to watch rugby and order pizza. After the movie we watched the All Blacks v South Africa rugby game (we won!!), then the America’s Cup racing (we lost). Rob and I didn’t get home until 4.30am!! I tried to sleep in Sunday morning, only made it to 10.30am.
We didn’t do a lot on Sunday, we shopped, Rob took me out for lunch, we did our Wasgij puzzle, I bought SIMS 2!!!! It was on sale - 50% off! But my computer is not finding my video or sound card, so I’m taking it to my IT man today.
Sunday night my sisters and I went out to dinner with our dad, his partner and our Gran. It was lovely to see her, we don’t see her often enough!
Now back to the Monday to Friday work, at least it was a good weekend! Makes the working-week not so tedious.
Garage Organization
June 25th, 2007
You know what the worst chore has to be. Cleaning out the garage!! It’s always the dirtiest, messiest part of the house. I remember when I lived with my dad we’d have to clean it out every couple of months, so much junk! Luckily I now live with my mum and she’s a tidy-freak, so it’s always spotless. Just needs an occassional sweep.
Do you need some garage organization? Check them out, they have all the storage cupboards and benches you could need!
Perfect for anyone thinking of starting up their own business as a mechanic at home!
Celebrations all around.
June 22nd, 2007
It was my birthday on Wednesday (June 20th), I turned 23! Yay me. Have you noticed how birthday’s arent’ as birthday-ey as you remember when you’re a kid? There’s less suprises and excitement. I’m not complaning, I loved all my prezzies, I knew what they all were, but still loved them.
Rob still loves to suprise me. He suprised me with the Pink concert tickets. And he’s organised something tonight for my birthday. I’ll let you know the details (and hopefully some photos) later.
I’ve also finished the first semester at Uni for 2007, I’ve finished exams… Oh. My. God. I feel so relaxed. No study, no homework, no lectures. Just 9 hours of work a day. (I want lots of money.. lol).
Road trip to Hamilton.
June 18th, 2007
On Saturday afternoon, Rob, myself, Chris and Natalia headed off for our hour and a half road trip to Hamilton, just to see the All Blacks play Canada (in rugby). I guess it wasn’t really a road trip because it only took 1.5 hours. haha. But it was fun nonetheless.
I love going on long car rides, especially if I don’t have to drive, (Chris drove the whole way).
The game was awesome, it was a great atmosphere and they even had fireworks before the game began!
Of course the All Blacks won, it was expected, as Canada doesn’t really have an international team. But they did damn well and even scored a try, much better then the French C team!
After the game we headed off to buy some drinks and KFC (eww can’t eat that again for AGES) and took it back to our backpackers. The beds were like concrete slabs. haha. I couldn’t have lasted more than one night!

Ahh well, back to study. Three exams to go, today, tomorrow and the next day. Can’t wait until they’re over!
Online Backup
June 15th, 2007
I have now learned, the bad way, that it is essential you backup your computer. My ram died on my computer, so my mum took it to her work to get it fixed. It came home working no problems. Stupid me decided I’d like to upgrade to Windows XP, from Windows 2000 which was working perfectly fine. Something happened during the upgrade and I have now lost everything from my hard drive. I’m pretty sure it’s not supposed to happen that way? It’s so damn frustrating! I now need to start from scratch, which isn’t always a bad thing, but I’ve lost all my photo’s that I haven’t added to Flickr (which is only a few, luckily) and all my music files. Rob had uploaded all his CDs to iTunes, they have all now been wiped. And of course you’ll remember that our cars got broken into earlier this year, so he no longer has any of them.
I am also having an issue with my sound, it either can’t find my sound card or the device is not working. I have no idea why. I may have to take it to my computer man.
This site, Online Backup, allows you to backup all your blog entries on their site for free! You can also upgrade to a paid account giving you more space. I think this is a great idea. Imagine losing a year or two of personal blog entries? It’s happened to me before!! It’s devastating.
You can also store photo’s and media files - sounds perfect for me! I’m going to join up and check it out!
Pink; my new idol
June 13th, 2007
Wow, P!NK’s concert was aaaamazing! I was not expecting it to be as good as it was, so I am very pleased! Not only does she sing, she also dances and does acrobatics! She sang all her old songs, all the ones I haven’t listened to in ages because of my CDs being stolen from my car. Next pay day, I am definitely out to buy them again!
She sang her controversial song ‘Dear Mr President’ matched with a slide of clips of the Iraq war. The song is amazing. It was very moving.
I woke up the next day with a sore throat from all the singing and screaming.

I admitted to Rob at the concert that if I ever turned gay, it’d only be for Pink. lol. The next morning we woke up to the radio alarm, with The Edge, only to hear the female DJ saying the exact same thing. They then had some female listeners calling in saying the same thing. I think it’s the confidence and sex appeal that she oozes. We all need a little of that!

If she ever comes back to do another concert, I will be there!
You have found Bronnie's personal blog. She's a 24 year old from New Zealand. Her idea of heaven can include; getting her nails painted, her hair highlighted, reading a good book, being out with friends, watching movies, snapping photos, cooking and enjoying a wine or cocktail.
She's currently in her last year of her accounting degree then she's off to the UK in June 2009 to work, play & have an adventure!
