I couldn’t hold on
July 23rd, 2007
I was still hanging out for my Harry Potter book until 1pm this afternoon when I thought I’d contact the radio station to see when they were going to send me my prize. The reply I got was not good. Another week! Are you serious?! People have already finished the book and I haven’t even started it!
So I decided I’d go out and buy it, and when my prize copies (of all 7) arrived, I’d sell them to pay for my copy I paid for. That way I can start reading.

A week of movies
July 21st, 2007
It was pointed out to me last night, by Rob, that I have been to three movies this working-week (Monday-Friday). So bad! The first one I saw on Monday was Oceans 13 with Rob, it was raining in the afternoon, so he was able to come home and I had come home inbetween classes at Uni and then decided not to back to my afternoon class. Tut tut!! First day back at Uni and I missed my second class. hehe. The guys at Uni gave me a bit of shit the next day (”first day back and you’ve missed the second class!!!). It was only one class, I’ll go next week. But anywho, I kind of enjoyed Oceans 13, it was no where near as exciting as the first one, but there were still some funny and well done bits.
Then on Thursday, my friend Natalia and I went out to lunch and then went to see Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. O.M.G it was awesome!! I didn’t want it to end. My sisters had been the week before and told me it had been dragged out too long, but I thought it wasn’t long enough!! I can’t wait until it’s out on DVD so I can buy it and watch it a couple more times!
Sidenote: The 7th Harry book is due out today. I haven’t yet mentioned that I won the 7th book (and the other 6) off a radio station, The Edge, by listening for their magic word of the day. I called in and got it right on Tuesday!! I still haven’t seen these books, I’m guessing it’s because the 7th isn’t released until today. Which makes me think I may not get it until Monday or Tuesday now. Grrr. I want to read! But at least I now have the full set, for free!
Then last night, Rob and I went to see Knocked Up, so funny! I enjoyed it and laughed out loud a few times. A nice think-free movie.
Now I think I need to go chase up my Harry books!
Meatballs á la Bronnie
July 18th, 2007
Tonight my sister was supposed to cook, but I had suggested Meatballs to her and she had no idea what to do. So I took over. haha.

Yes, those are peas and sweet corn in there. They were so good and so filling! We served it with gnocchi shaped pasta.
The recipe, as requested, is below the cut.

Beautiful day
July 14th, 2007
It is the middle of winter here, it’s chilly and the wind is bitter, but the sun is out today and it’s beautiful. I love these days, they’re perfect winter days; chilly, fresh and sunny!
I decided not to work today (I have the last three Saturdays) so I went off to Rob’s rugby. They lost sadly, but I snapped some great photos. I think I have now mastered the art of good photos!

Now I’m going to watch my Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban DVD, since I don’t have HP and the Goblet of Fire, to get me in Harry-mode for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix!
I am so looking forward to the new book! I heard rumours that this may not be her last book as she was all upset when she finished writing it… we’ll wait and see!
Addiction
July 13th, 2007

Mmm popcorn.
I have stuck up a new layout, once again it’s not my own work, I have simply lost the enthusiasm and creativity to design my own layouts and to be honest I was never that good anyway.
I have decided I need more photos! I don’t take exciting photos, I need to get back into it, so here go..
I have also decided to stop doing the PPP posts for a bit. I feel I lost a lot of regular readers because of it. I’m sure they’d turn up and see it was a paid one and give up and not come back! So no more. Just me!
I know the popcorn photo was totally random, but it’s eye catching, I had fun enhancing it.
Something I’d like to see..
July 10th, 2007
I was reading on People.com about Eva Longoria and Tony Parkers’ wedding. There’s an article about Ryan Seacrests’ point-of-view, he talks about how Tony hired a French painter to paint Eva’s portrait while at a dinner. Here’s the bit:
At one dinner, Seacrest got giddy about a French painter who Parker hired to create a portrait of his future bride at the party.
“He did it in like two minutes and it was perfect,” Seacrest said. Against a black canvas, “he did this Cirque du Soleil type dance with two white paint brushes,” Seacrest explained. “He starts to paint and paint and what you see is Tony playing basketball and everyone is thinking: OK that is kind of cool. Then he runs back up to the canvas and messes it up like he screwed up. … Then he flips the painting over and make two dots with his brush, left and right, and it is Eva Longoria in every detail.”
That sounds so amazing!! I’d love to see the painting and I’d love to see the guy do it! I thought this was definitely an ‘interestingness’ thing to share!
Bring on pay day!
July 9th, 2007
I know I owe you a big, long story about what I’ve been up to these last couple of weeks. I don’t think I have posted a real blog since the end of June. Slacker. But sadly, I can sum up what I’ve been doing in one word; working. In the last two weeks I have worked 103 hours. Tomorrow is pay day - woohoo!
Of course I have done a few other things, like, on Saturday; a group of us went to watch Rob’s rugby game. They lost sadly, but I think it’s because Rob only got a small time on the field - biased. I took the video camera down, I just need to work out how to upload them to my computer so I can put it up for you to watch!
During the game we organised with Nat and Dylan to go to a movie, so the four of us 23-year-olds headed out to see Transformers. Just what every 23 year old would be doing on a Saturday night! lol. The argument is that Transformers was an 80’s cartoon, so we grew up with it. Well I never watched it - no boys in my family. But I thought the movie was great! There were lots more funny bits than I was expecting.
Yesterday Rob and I slept in ’til 11, so nice! We didn’t get home until 3am Sunday morning, we stayed at Nat and Dylan’s for a bit after the movie.
After we got up we headed off to Subway for breakfast/lunch, I had a chicken salad - which I usually try and avoid (Subway is already healthy!!!) but I was amazed out how full it made me and how good it was!
We then headed off to Rob’s parents where they were installing their new french doors off their lounge to their deck. They look awesome! So we “helped” with that for a few hours and ended up staying for dinner. We had fish and chips, so I felt really good that I had only had the Subway salad all day.
It’s work time now, one more week of fulltime work and then it’s back to Uni! Next semester I have some shocking papers to do; Auditing, Taxation, Law of Business Organisations and Accounting Information Systems - eeeeewwwwww.
So moving!
July 4th, 2007
Pink sang her song Dear Mr President at the concert I went to. I had forgotten that I was going to check out YouTube and see if it was available. It is so damn moving! Being a New Zealander, the US politics aren’t so big to me. But I have to agree that there have been some bad decisions made.
I love this video, it makes my eyes well up! This is exactly how she sang it at the concert I went to, same pictures and everything.
You have found Bronnie's personal blog. She's a 24 year old from New Zealand. Her idea of heaven can include; getting her nails painted, her hair highlighted, reading a good book, being out with friends, watching movies, snapping photos, cooking and enjoying a wine or cocktail.
She's currently in her last year of her accounting degree then she's off to the UK in June 2009 to work, play & have an adventure!
