I got my wish!

A Fujifilm finepix s6500 to be exact…
I ended up getting the s6500 instead of the s6900, it was heaps cheaper and the only difference was the mega pixels. My one only has 6.3 mega pixels, but as my sister’s boyfriend, Graham, pointed out to me, it’s only necessary if I’m going to print photo’s larger than A2, which I probably will never do.
So I ended up paying $590NZD for my camera, a 1 GB card, a 3 year extended warranty and a camera bag. Which is an awesome deal, considering I was going to pay $750!! And that was without the memory card, warranty and bag!
I’ve already taken heaps of photos, just trying it out. I love it. Here it is:

At the top of my wishlist
August 22nd, 2007
I have decided that this is the thing I want most at the moment:

A Fujifilm Finepix s9600.
It’s stats:
* 9 megapixel SuperCCD HR sensor (1/1.6 inch)
* New Fujinon 10.7x (28-300mm) fixed optical zoom lens with manual twist barrel control
* Ultra-fast response times (0.01 second shutter lag and 0.8 second start-up)
* Store images on both xD-Picture Cardâ„¢ and Compact Flashâ„¢/Microdrive compatible
* Real Photo Processor reduces noise and delivers enhanced colour reproduction
* Over 300 shot battery life
Real-time histogram to assist exposure settings before shooting
* 1cm Super macro mode
* Sensitivity setting of ISO 1600 at full resolution for low light photography with reduced noise
* Low sensitivity of ISO 80 for ultra-high quality photography
* Highlight Warning feature for displaying highlight areas in playback
* TV-quality VGA movie recording of 30 frames per second with sound
* Closed unit design to eliminate dust accumulation on the CCD
* Hot shoe and PC sync terminal
* PictBridgeâ„¢ compatible for direct printing without a PC
There are great information websites about it here, here and here.
It’s an in-between type camera, as I’m not professional, but I feel I could lift myself out of the amateur level. Maybe in 5-10 years I’ll get myself a more professional type camera.
It’s retailing at about $720-749NZD at the moment, which is not too bad for a good camera.
I don’t think it would be possible to take bad photo’s with this camera. My current camera, a Canon, churns out blurry photo’s if I zoom and over-exposed photo’s in slightly dim light. I have taken a few awesome photo’s with my Canon, but I’d like to take some amazing ones!
Happy 21st Allie!
August 20th, 2007
Saturday was my younger sister, Allie’s, 21st birthday. So she celebrated with the traditional 21st party. It was a great night, heaps of friends and family turned up, it was great to catch up with people we hadn’t seen in awhile.
We danced, drank and sang the night away. I’m sure everyone had a great time!
She looked totally gorgeous in red.
Heaps more pics here.
My movie of the moment.
August 18th, 2007
My sister and I watched The Illusionist last night, we had rented it, I think it’s been out for awhile. But O.M.G. it’s such an awesome movie - one of the best I’ve seen in ages. If you haven’t already seen it, you should! The whole movie has twists and turns you don’t expect - totally awesome!

As soon as I can afford it, I’m buying it.
In other news, I have finished Harry Potter #7. I don’t know how I feel about it.. I enjoyed the book, but some bits not so much. I loved the ‘19 years later’ part - I thought that was cute.
I’m kind of sad it’s finished, but everything has to come to an end at some stage. Now I have no books to read!! AHH!
Day in the life
August 10th, 2007
6.00am Alarm goes off, ‘damnit already!’ I get some nice hugs from Rob though, so not so bad.
6.25am Rob’s getting up, getting dressed and blinding me with the lights. I lie in bed listening to the radio.
6.45am Rob comes into give me a kiss goodbye, he’s off to work.
7.45am Finally decided I should get up and go to the gym after dozing in and out of sleep and achieving nothing.
9.05am Home from the gym, exhausted, sweaty and blotchy red. Shower time!

9.20am Out of the shower, get dressed, brush hair (can’t be bothered to blow dry it, my arms ache from the weights at the machine), moisturise and perfume.
9.45am Fold washing, hang up load of washing and put another load on. (Geez I sound like a mum with 7 kids! But no, I just seem to do the rest of my family’s washing - mum’s, my sister’s - 20 & 17 - could really do their own!!)
10am - Breakfast! Settle down with my cup of coffee and Special K (with almonds - yum!) and watch a bit of Food TV.

10.15am - Check emails, flickr and my trade me auctions.
10.30 My sister’s home, so we chat and catch up.
11.15am Head off to Uni with a stop off to get a fresh juice.

12.00pm Auditing lecture.

2.25pm Home, lunchtime! Heat up some rice risotto.
2.45pm Work on my law essay.

3.45pm Rob arrives home, we watch some TV and I read my Harry Potter book.
6.30pm We decide we should get some dinner, since it’s Friday we can’t be bothered, so off to That’s Asian.

7.40pm Plan for tonight - read more Harry Potter, watch the rugby with Rob, hopefully finish my law essay. Wont be a late night as I have work tomorrow morning at 8am. Not cool.
Cardiovascular machine!
August 3rd, 2007
I got my new gym program yesterday from a male gym instructor who is trying to kill me. I was nervous at first, I didn’t want to tell him my weight, he never asked, woohoo!
As he explained my new workout to me, he told me how the weights work is definitely as beneficial as the cardio if done at the right intensity, he then continued to say that after two or three weeks my body would be a cardiovascular machine! Sweet Jesus. I suddenly had images of Arnie Schwarzenegger popping into my head. He must have read my face as he suddenly jumped in with “of course it’s genetically impossible for a female to bulk up with muscle mass like a male would get, you will just look toned”. No complaints here!
He also told me that weight-loss is 70% diet and only 30% exercise. Damnit. That means I can’t have a Big Mac for lunch!

You have found Bronnie's personal blog. She's a 24 year old from New Zealand. Her idea of heaven can include; getting her nails painted, her hair highlighted, reading a good book, being out with friends, watching movies, snapping photos, cooking and enjoying a wine or cocktail.
She's currently in her last year of her accounting degree then she's off to the UK in June 2009 to work, play & have an adventure!
