I know how to spend money.

This weekend has been a good one. I’ve had a bit of a mix of everything happen. It wasn’t a full-on weekend, I hate those, but we caught up with different people and still managed some shopping and a lunch out.

Yesterday I caught up with Jo and Sarina for brunch. Sarina had suggested a place, it was a real cute place and there was so much to choose from on the menu! I had ham, mushrooms and poached eggs. The best mushrooms I’ve had! I don’t know what they cooked them with, but they were awesome. I need to go back there to have another mushroom hit.
I also noticed the cafe had great decor, luckily Jo had her camera and wiped it out for me to snap a shot.

After brunch with the girls, Rob and I headed off into the city to check out a place he wanted to get his last tattoo done at. Last is bolded because he’s not allowed anymore. Unless he gets my name tattooed on him ;) hehe.
Anywho, after talking to the guy and checking he has enough money, Rob decides he’s going to get it done there and then. I can’t handle tattoo/piercing places. They freak me out. I’ve seen all Rob’s tattoo’s be done, but I’m still not immune. The guy who did it had tattoo’s all over his neck and piercings everywhere - even on his ELBOWS. So yes, he freaked me out a bit. I was feeling a bit butterfly-ish and sick. I even said to Rob at one stage (before the tattoo had even begun) that I felt like I was going to throw up and I’m sure the elbow-pierced-man looked at me like I was unusual.
So after double checking that the elbow-pierced-man had traced the tattoo into the right place and up the right way I headed off to Borders. Oh wow. I love that place. I must have been there an hour and a half.. just looking at books and checking out different authors. Luckily Rob was preoccupied or he would have complained the whole way around the four-level store.
I came away with two purchases from a possible eight, I wasn’t rich enough for eight unfortunately. War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy and The Memory Keepers Daughter by Kim Edwards. So I have been reading my current book to try and get to the next!
After much fun in Borders I headed back to the tattoo place to see that Rob’s tattoo was just about finished and it turned out good.

While we were in the city we got a text from Natalie and Dylan to go over to their place and watch the All Blacks game vs Italy. The game didn’t start until 11pm so Nat and I watched High School Musical while we were waiting. I hadn’t seen it before, it’s quite a cute movie! Of course the All Blacks kicked ass and we were home by 1.30am.

Today Rob and I headed out to the new mall built in Albany for a look and some lunch. They have a L’Occitane shop which I love, so I had to buy something. It’s not cheap. I paid $35NZD for this grape moisturiser, it’s new. But it’s SO good. Of course I also asked the girl for freebie samples, which she gave me. They’ve bought out a new range, Almond & Apple, which I got freebies for, which is also delicious!

So I’ve spent lots of money this weekend, so I need to be good this week to make it through to my next pay day, next Tuesday!
