Xmas wishlist
October 28th, 2007
I know this seems early, but really there’s only 8 weeks until Christmas. Also, I have a few things in mind, but when it finally gets to December and family ask me what I’d like I can never come up with anything, so why not write it down?

That’s about all I’ve got at the moment. Not too bad! lol.

EDIT
Olay Touch of Sun Daily Facial Moisturiser with SPF15. It also has a slight tint, which builds a gradual tan. Very cool.
Wow, now I’m coming up with lots of stuff!! Greedy!! I’ll probably end up buying myself the olay moisturiser and jandals before Christmas.. hehe.

Things my boyfriend says #59
October 28th, 2007
Rob and I went to pick up coffee today for lunch. I ordered a trim mochaccino and he had a hot chocolate (not a fan of coffee).
When we got home he held up his hot chocolate and proudly said ‘this is my slim mochachocca!‘.
I couldn’t help laughing.
I know..

Yes, I was due for a weigh-in post on Tuesday and I didn’t do it. I had a bad weekend. The wedding food, lunch in Matakana and Rob and I had a takeaway on Saturday night. So yes, not good at all. I gained a kilo.
I’m back on track now. Getting back to writing down my daily food.
Next Tuesday will be good!
A radio DJ here in New Zealand is currently on Jenny Craig and she’s doing well. I love reading her diary as it’s inspiration to keep going! I can’t wait until my clothes don’t fit me (like in her previous post). Check her out.
Also, check out stuff you didn’t know. A big list of trivia facts. I knew some.
A wedding, road trip and two games of cricket..
October 23rd, 2007
..all in one weekend. Well, it was a long weekend.
On Friday night we attended my Dad’s wedding to Laurel, whom he has been with for six years now. They had the ceremony at home and then took us out to dinner at Mollies. It’s the flashest restaurant I’ve ever been to! It was beautifully candle lit dining. We even had a piano and opera performance while we ate our entrée.

I have a picture of the menu here. I had the quail, baby chicken and sticky date pudding. Rob ordered the salmon, lamb and chocolate marquise; so we each got to try a bit of everything.
The food was delicious and the night was great fun and of course we all looked great!
If you want to look at more photo’s from the wedding and dinner, I have a set of 49 photos here.

On Saturday morning I headed off to do some work and make some money while Rob went to his first cricket game for the weekend. I went out to see how it was going after work. Unfortunately they didn’t win.
On Sunday it was an OK day outside and we felt like doing something. Rob came up with the idea of going to Goat Island, up North, as he has never been there. I thought this was a great idea, road trips are fun!

It took just over an hour to get there. It was a bit overcast and very windy, but still good to get out. After taking some photos and checking out the fish we headed back into Matakana for lunch.
We came across a pub having a shear a sheep, eat a pie & drink a pint competition. Very typical New Zealand country town stuff. Unfortunately we missed it by about 20 minutes. So we headed into the pub next door for food. I had a seafood chowder which, honestly, is one of the best I’ve ever had! Rob had some BBQ chicken wings which he thoroughly enjoyed.

After lunch we went to the Matakana Vineyard where we enjoyed some wine tasting (well I did, Rob doesn’t drink wine). I bought a bottle of Pinotage for $25 which is reasonable. I am yet to enjoy it as I felt a bit light headed after all the free wine.
Sunday night we went to Rob’s parents for dinner and a catch up. Both Rob and I feeling exhausted, no idea why, because we were sitting in the car for a few hours I guess. After dinner we picked up some DVDs on the way home to watch. We got through two; Jerry Maguire and Men of Honour, both great movies.
On Monday, Labour Day (in NZ), Rob had another cricket game. So I decided I’d go watch too. It was a yucky day, very windy, cold, grey and it kept raining on and off. What sucks most is that Rob was playing for a different team, so none of my friends (girlfriends of Rob’s friends in his cricket team) were there to watch with me. Luckily I could park the car right up close to the game, so I could sit in it and not freeze my ass off.
After the game we went back to the cricket club and caught up with everyone. I bought five $2 raffle tickets and won $50!! WOOHOO! We didn’t get home until after 9pm, so today I am feeling a bit lethargic.
It has come the time that I must get off the damn internet that distracts me so easily and start some exam study. Grrr.. my enemy!
A busy day
October 17th, 2007
My day started off as normal; I got up and headed off to the gym. Came home, showered and made some breakfast. Today was muesli and “low fat” apple crumble flavoured yoghurt, which turned out not so low fat! A whole two weight watchers points. Damnit, have to cut back on something else today.
Headed off to Uni for my Tax lecture. When the class finished at 11am I headed off to the bank to increase my interest free overdraft so I could make it through my exams and not have to work lots of hours. Those hours are needed for study. The bank approved me, yay, spending time. Only the essentials of course.
My most important purchase was a new top to wear to my Dad’s wedding on Friday (I will blog more about that after the ‘do). It took five shops before I even saw anything I liked! But in the fifth shop I was successful and found a cute top which only cost me $24.99 - bargain! I didn’t want to spend lots, because I’m doing well on the weight loss and I’m not planning on being this size much longer, so it was a good find! (Pics will be posted after Friday). In the same shop I also found two cute tees. They were only $13.99 each, so I had to plunge. One was in my 365 day shot for today and I’m sure you’ll see me in the other one soon.
Also relating to my Dad’s wedding I was trying to schedule in a cut and colour for my hair. The re-growth is gross! I needed to do it regardless of the impending wedding. I was very lucky that my hairdresser could switch one of her appointments to squeeze me in on Friday at noon. So I’m very fortunate, it’s my fault for leaving it so late!
After my shopping expedition and phone calls to my hairdresser I figured I should squeeze in some exam study for Law before heading off to tennis. I managed to cover a couple of topics and then headed off to tennis at 5.30pm.
This was my first interclub game of the season. I hadn’t picked up my racquet since March! I was dreading going, thinking I was just going to lose every set - who wants that much fun? But you can’t let your team down, so I turned up and won my singles!! 6-4, 6-2. I played as number 2 (out of 4, 1 being the best) as well, so it’s a harder game than when I used to play at 3 or 4. I was so thrilled. We won all our games, except my doubles partner and I lost our doubles game. But overall our team won. What a great way to start a season!
Now I’m home, it’s 10.30pm, I’m showered, exfoliated, absorbing the fake tan I applied 30 minutes ago and ready for bed.
a huge baby shower!
October 13th, 2007
This afternoon, after working all morning, I headed off to a friends baby shower with my sister. This lady is not a close, close friend, but I used to work with her and my sister, Allie, still works with her, so I thought it was sweet she invited me. She’s an Iraqi lady and she is the sweetest ever!
Allie had told me that there would be over 100 people there, I didn’t believe her. But she was right, 120 people. Of course the Iraqi community is huge, so there was lots of family and close family friends. They are the most friendly and lovely people! They all cooked up a storm, both sweet and savoury foods. Allie and I, two out of four non-Iraqi’s, felt out of place at the beginning, but we knew a few people there and they were just such fun. We laughed and chatted the whole time!
I loved watching the elder ladies with the children and newborn babies, their facial expressions are priceless so full of joy and love. I wish I had taken my camera with me, the shots would have been better than any Hallmark card. Their faces, not my photography.
You should have seen her present table, it was huge!! The decorations; flowers and balloons, were beautiful too! I even stole one at the end.. haha. It has dummy’s and a baby bottle in it, so cute.

Now we have Dylan and Nat on their way over for pizza and some drinks. Not good for the diet, but I’ll only have 1-2 pieces of pizza and some pepsi max (point free).
I haven’t done any studying for exams today, so that’s tomorrow’s chore!

October 9th, 2007
First week down and I’m down to 93.4kg, that’s a loss of 600g (1.3lbs) since last Tuesday. I’m happy with that. They say that 0.5-1kg per week is a healthy weightloss.
I went to the gym this morning and my arms are feeling a bit achy from the weights, but that’s good, I can feel the workout.
Something fun, if you’re a mum, you’ll love this. I’m not, but I’m sure my mum has said most of these a few times to us when we were younger.
You have found Bronnie's personal blog. She's a 24 year old from New Zealand. Her idea of heaven can include; getting her nails painted, her hair highlighted, reading a good book, being out with friends, watching movies, snapping photos, cooking and enjoying a wine or cocktail.
She's currently in her last year of her accounting degree then she's off to the UK in June 2009 to work, play & have an adventure!
