Whew!

December 28th, 2007

I’ve had another successful week with Weight Watchers. I went to my weigh-in this morning and had lost another 500g. So relieved. I was worried, what with Christmas, that I would have gained this week. But no, I must have been extra good the rest of the week.
The lady did warn me though that I may find I have less of a loss next week or even a gain. So I will definitely go for a few walks this week to make sure that doesn’t happen!

This morning I also went and used my pedicure voucher I received for Christmas. It was so lovely! I have never had a pedicure before, but oh. my. god. it is wonderful! I insist you try it. They massage your feet and legs and soak your feet in a spa bath.
So I came up with the idea of treating myself to another pedicure when I have lost a total of 5kgs (11lbs). At first I thought that didn’t seem much, but it is! It’s 16% of the total amount of weight I want to lose. That’s heaps!
In total now I have lost 1.4kgs, so I shall keep at it so I can spoil myself!

You may have noticed I finished reading Sylvia and have now started on Pride & Prejudice. Oh how I love holidays!

I was very spoiled this Christmas and was racking my brain as what to do for my TT this week. And then I clicked and decided I’d list 13 different gifts I received. I was so spoiled that I actually did receive 13 different gifts.. plus a few more smalls ones.

1. A Handbag

2. Cocktail glasses & Pre-mix Cosmopolitan

3. Books

4. Sexy Justin Timberlake Calendar

5. Chocolates & lollies

6. Fairydown blanket

7. Camera Tripod

8. Wine

Well Christmas Day has been and gone, and it is now Boxing Day. I was very spoiled yesterday and got heaps of lovely presents - more than I was expecting! But I will save them for tomorrow for my Thursday Thirteen.

Today I told everyone that I was not going anywhere near the shops! Why bother? The Boxing Day sales always run for the week up to New Years. There’s no rush. I planned to sit and finish my book so I could get onto my next on in the list.

So what did I do at two o’clock this afternoon? Walked to the shops with my mum. We both had books to exchange that we’d be given and had already read, so that’s what I went to do. I ended up getting; Kitty by Deborah Challinor and Plain Truth by Jodi Picoult.
I’m excited about Kitty because it’s about a young girl in early New Zealand. I haven’t read any New Zealand history-based books.

Now it’s back to reading, relaxing and drinking. My weight watchers leader is going to growl at me!

Oops I did it again, junior!
I’m normally not one for the celebritiy gossip. Well I read a tonne of it, I just don’t normally post about it. But this one had me in shock.
Britney Spears’ younger sister, Jamie-Lynn (16), is now pregnant to her 19 year old boyfriend. Whom she met at church. Crazy huh?

What’s more, she’s 12 weeks along. Does she want some of Britney’s attention?

Such a shame. As my sister said, she was their meal ticket with her own show on Nickelodeon.

Lots of articles found here, here and here.

My Thursday Thirteen is below the cut.

Sick? in Summer?

December 19th, 2007

Weird! But I am. It’s more a headcold than a flu though. On Monday afternoon my head was starting to ache and my throat and neck were aching. I was suddenly freaking out thinking of meningitis, but no rash, so I’m ok.
Then yesterday when I woke up my head felt like a huge rock trying to balance on my neck. So of course my neck was sore. My ears were blocked, my throat sore and when I stood up or walked for longer than two minutes I felt dizzy and had to sit down. I was also sweating but then had goosebumps. It was nuts!
I’m better today, I just sound funny. I’m glad the dizzyness and temperature changing has gone, they were the worst part.

The thing driving me nuts at the moment is my lack of dollars! I didn’t pace myself with my Christmas shopping… I just bought, bought, bought! I still have a few gifts to get, so will hopefully sort that this weekend. Very last minute! I’m excited because I get paid this Friday plus my holiday pay plus a bonus (fingers crossed, that’s not a definite). But I will have to budget and not spend it all.

Tomorrow will be my first weigh in at Weight Watchers, I’m excited!! I weighed myself this morning and I weighed 2.7kg less, but of course it will be different because they weigh me in the afternoon. As long as it’s the same time of day every week there’ll be no issue.

After my Weight Watchers meeting I’m heading out to dinner with the girls, a good catch up before Christmas. So I will have to control myself when ordering, but I’m sure I can cope! Life always throws us in sticky situations.

I joined Weight Watchers

December 14th, 2007

So we’re nearly at Christmas 2007 and I seem to be the same size I was when I decided in January 2007 that I was going to lose some weight. So I didn’t get far.
I’m excited about weight watchers and am going to attend all meetings as they keep saying they are beneficial.
I was speaking to the leader there last night, she’s 21, thank god! It’s hard to relate to a 40 year old woman who has a totally different lifestyle to me. Well this girl started the same weight I am now and in half a year she lost 26kgs. Amazing! She looks amazing! So I feel confident I can do it.
I was talking to my mum about it and she was all “don’t get strung up in weight loss, you’re gorgeous..” etc etc. As mum’s do. But she did understand that health-wise, I probably do need to lose a few kilos. I don’t want diabetes!!
So anyway, my goal weight is 68kg, I haven’t given myself a date to be there by, I’m just going to keep chugging along until I reach it.

Omg.. on TV last night was the most revolting show. Superskinny Me: The Race to Size Double Zero. It followed to British journalists on extreme diets trying to shrink to a size zero. They say it was an experiment, umm why would you put your body through this? It was scary! One of the women didn’t eat a solid food for 2 weeks! Just homemade lemonade and juice.

Anywho, I won’t be doing it that way! And it’s time for work..

can you say: bad haircut?!

December 12th, 2007

I went to get my hair cut and my highlights re-coloured yesterday. Forever I have had “the Rachel” from Friends haircut, it always suited me and I could style it differently, but was starting to get bored of it. After much deciding and thinking I decided I’d let my hairdresser cut my hair shorter, a lot shorter. But oh my God. I am regretting it this morning.
It’s bad!
I do not suit it at all.
I look like a boy.
It’s so bad I’d pay for extensions if I could afford them.

Last night I nearly cried when I realised what I’d done. At least when having a bad hair day with long hair you can tie it up or clip it back. It was never an issue. With this I’m in shit.
It may look better on someone else, who doesn’t have a fat face!

Now I’m eager to get my hair growing!! Any tips? I think even an inch or two longer and it would look 100% better.

This Christmas it’s going to be; the year Bronnie had a bad haircut, oh joy!
At least the highlights look good.

I’m sure you’re just busting to see a photo?

It’s below the cut… (no pun intended)
