is that what we came to see?

Last night there was nothing on TV, except The Hills which Rob doesn’t like and would repeat the next day for me, so we decided to head off to the movies to see I Am Legend. We had heard from my sisters that it was scary, like hardout scary, so I was feeling a tad worried. We turned up to the cinema’s to find it packed! Of course, it was cheap Tuesday night where the prices dropped from $14 to $9.

We cue up and watch the rotating board above giving the session times. The 7pm screening of I Am Legend is full. Wonderful! The next screening isn’t on until 8.30pm. I’m not one for sitting around and waiting so we decide to go to the only other movie screening at 7pm. Alvin and the Chipmunks. HAHA. It was so cute! I seriously recommend you see it, even if you just wait for it to come out on DVD. I don’t think Rob was so impressed.

Then today my sister came to visit and we decided we’d go see a movie. The only thing screening was The Golden Compass. So my two sisters and I headed off to see it thinking it was a mix of Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. Ahem. No. I was pleased when it was over. And there’s a sequel to it!

I have no decided I am only going to see a movie if I fully know what’s going on and actually, really want to see it.
There are heaps coming, I am excited!

fell off.

Yesterday I kinda fell off the Weight Watchers wagon by having McDonalds. I feel guilty today. But I remember my group leader saying, if you have a bad day, just make sure you start again fresh the next and get back on track.

So I have done exactly that. Today’s lunch is much healthier. One of my herboslaw, sweet chilli sauce wraps. But this time I added some chicken breast (skinless) that was left over from our roast chicken last night. And of course my new addiction, diet coke.

Weight watchers: Lunch: Vegie wrap

I used to be a coke zero fan, (I feel totally guilty if I drink real coke - plus find it very sweet now). A couple of weeks ago I tried diet coke again for the first time in about a year. It’s the best! I’m addicted to it now. On Saturday I had three 600ml bottles and yesterday I had two. So I’ve cut back today with only a couple of glasses. It’s point free - so it’s good to be able to enjoy something and not feel guilty!

to wax, to shave or to let it grow wild?

This has been a debate amongst my group of friends recently. It originally started when Rob asked me what percentage I thought of New Zealand women have had or still do have the full brazilian. I said 10%, which from our small survey (a group of friends) seemed about right.
Of course guys think that every second girl has it done because of the magazines and the porn industry. But really, only a handful.
I have to admit I have never been for a brazilian or a bikini wax. I have always been a “trimmer” with my nifty little battery operated bikini trimmer I picked up.

I think I would definitely get a bikini wax done, I’m not sure why I haven’t to date. It’s not the fear of unknown persons in that region (I’ve been to they gyno many times), I think I’ve just never really thought or worried about it.
I’m not so keen on the whole brazilian thing though. Or the landing strip. haha. I don’t know if it will ever happen to me, but you can never say never!

New Years resolution? get a bikini wax.

Welcome to 2008!

And just like that it’s January 2nd.

We had a fun New Years at a friends place with another couple, where we ordered pizza and drank alcohol, which is the norm on New Years.
We also heard some exciting news for one couple, who are now expecting their first baby. Which is wonderful news for them! There seem to be pregnant people or newborn babies everywhere!

We are having amazing weather for once! It usually isn’t hot and sunny until mid February, but no complaints at all from me.
Rob has headed off to play golf this morning, so I am now going to get dressed, grab my book and head outside to read for a bit.
I’m getting behind on my reading - I have seven books sitting on my book shelf waiting to be read. All good books that have been recommended to me, so I’m not expecting any duds.

  • The Clan of the Cave Bear by Jean M. Auel
  • Kitty by Deborah Challinor
  • The Time Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger
  • Atonement by Ian McEwan
  • The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory
  • Plain Truth by Jodi Picoult
  • The Principessa by Christie Dickason
  • Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Years and that 2008 is a brilliant year for you (and me)!
