So proud.

Rob got a letter in the mail saying that he passed his level 3 tests and assignments for his green keeping apprenticeship. He text me the news straight away. I was so happy for him! When I got home I gave him a big hug and kiss.
I teased that it was unfair that he had his degree before me. He laughed and said he had a “degree in grass”.
He swore me to secrecy, I was not allowed to tell anyone. Rob’s not the gloating type, like me.

I was so proud that when he went out to his soccer game I told my mum. But I said “hush, you can’t tell him I told you!” She promised.

Later that night I’m laying in bed reading my book and Rob is watching TV in the lounge. I then hear my mum descending the stairs and she says “congratulations”.

SHIT.

She then goes on to say; “I was sworn to secrecy but I wanted to say congratulations and well done.” I hear him say thanks.

About 10 minutes later the bedroom door swings open and he’s standing there with that look. That look that means “you blabber!”. He knows I can’t hold in secrets. lol. Plus I’m so proud of him for doing it!! He didn’t try at school so therefore didn’t end up with good marks. But he has applied himself to this, so I’m very happy he got a great outcome.

I laugh and pull the covers over my head and hear him say “Bron, you blab! Did you tell your mum not to say anything?”

“Yes!” I squeak.

He laughs and jumps on the bed. I give him a big hug and all his forgiven. I know he’s happy that I am proud of him, he just wont say it.

The only problem is he wont trust me with secrets now.

Thursday Thirteen #8: Things I can’t live without.

Things I can’t live without. Well I probably could but life would be dull, depressing and very unexciting.

  • 1. Family, friends & Rob. I know it’s cliché! But isn’t it the truth? If you have no-one in your life that loves you and respects you, where would you be?! I separated Rob into his own category as he is my lover, my family and my best friend. He also reads my blog and would not be impressed if he was just “family & friends”. Heh.
  • 2. My camera. I never knew I’d be a photography-fanatic but somehow it just happened. And now I take it everywhere with me. I can’t wait until I can afford another camera, I don’t think I’d sell my Fuji 6500 because it’s my first real camera not just a point and snap. But I’d like to build up a collection of makes and models. I think next time I’ll get a Canon or Nikon.
  • 3. My bookcase, filled with books. Weird? Not really. I’ve also recently become a fanatical reader and have to have a book on the go at all times. I love looking at my books at the ones I’ve read and feeling proud. Then looking at the ones still to read and being excited of the stories they hold.
  • 4. A glass of wine. Every so often, when I have points left over. I used to drink a glass of wine every night when I got home from work. I now drink a glass once a week or sometimes even once every two weeks. Oh my god do I enjoy it! It’s such a special prize to have one that I enjoy it so much more now.
  • 5. Diet coke. It’s point free and it is now my addiction. Most days I drink 200-600mL’s of it. It’s my points acceptable treat for when I get sick of water.
  • 6. My handbag collection. I have about 15. I love handbags. I think I’m a handbag addict because I’m not a clothes addict. I’ve always been the chubby girl, so clothes aren’t fun to shop for. Handbags always look good.
  • 7. My computer. My access to the internet, e-mails, my website, a place to upload my photos, play on photoshop and read funny blogs.
  • 8. Drama TV. For example: The Hills and Grey’s Anatomy. I love when these shows on! It makes a day at work so much better knowing I can go home and relax in front of my favourite shows.
  • 9. My car. When it died the other week I realised how much I need it. The bus system in Auckland sucks. I hate buses anyway, they scare me. I always think the bus wont go to my destination and I’ll end up walking for ages. I’d rather walk than get lost on a bus somewhere.
  • 10. Weight Watchers Butterscotch Ice Cream. Oh My God this stuff is to die for! It’s butterscotch flavour with a caramel swirl and hokey pokey bits and it’s only 2 points a tub! I even have Rob hooked, he loves the stuff.
  • 11. My morning coffee. I really do enjoy my morning coffee with my breakfast. I don’t think coffee wakes me up in the morning. It’s just the enjoyment of the aroma and taste of it.
  • 12. My mobile phone. It is my point of contact with friends and family. I don’t text message as much as I used to. I prefer to ring and get an answer straight away. But here in NZ it’s so expensive to ring off a mobile phone. We have to monopoly companies who make the prices far too high.
  • 13. My blog. I had a break from it a couple of years back (prior to December 2005 - hence my archives start then) but I love my blog. I love posting fun stories, sad stories, adventure stories and love stories. I don’t get too personal here because I do know of a few offline friends and family who read it. I wish I could get more personal with my entries. Maybe one day I’ll do it - what the hell eh? Everyone has similar issues and stories I’m sure.
