A couple of weeks ago, or maybe one week ago. It seems like forever ago, on New Zealand’s national day, Waitangi Day, Rob had to work (he got paid time and a half - so no biggie) and near the end of his day he picked me up from home because he said he was going to a park with an awesome view of the Auckland Harbour bridge, Auckland City and the Sky Tower and that I should bring my camera. Isn’t he a sweetie?
So he picked me up and off we set. We had to do a few stops at parks for him to mow the lawns. He even gave me my first manual driving lesson. I have never driven a manual car. He got me to drive his manual work truck! Oh My God. I bunny-hopped and stalled. I’m not a fan of the whole manual thing - people always argue “you’re more in control of the car in a manual”. I really don’t care! I like having a free hand when I drive to change my music, drink my diet coke/water, apply lip gloss, check my cellphone or eat.
After the driving lesson we headed to the picturesque park and I snapped some shots.

Rob then told me about an awesome sunset he saw the night before. Yay! More photos. So we had to go over the bridge in order to see this sunset in all it’s glory. So we went out to dinner with Rob’s parents, then he had cricket training and I read 50 pages of The Other Boleyn Girl and then we stopped to enjoy the sunset. I had my tripod with me - awesome!
It was quite romantic really. Sitting on a bench watching the sunset. A few people were fishing off the side of the side walk. They must have thought we were weird.
I managed to also get an updated picture of the two of us, much to Rob’s annoyance.

Go the tripod!
