I went to lunch today with some girlfriends from High School that I only see monthly when we brunch or lunch. Other than that life is hectic, so we’ve organised to get together on the first Saturday of every month. It’s good because we’re all ready for it and we get to catch up!
Today we headed off to Yum Cha which is always delicious. I love the whole idea of yum cha - lots of little items you can try at once. It’s also really cheap, which is always a bonus. My favourite is always the prawn and pork dumplings. I did try a little bit of shark fin, it was cut like slim noodles and didn’t taste like anything. A bit disturbing that their serving shark fin in New Zealand. Is it illegal?
While shopping at the mall this afternoon I decided I wanted a coffee and spotted a Dunkin Donuts. Neither Rob nor I have every tried a donut from Dunkin Donuts, I guess they’re just not so popular here. So once we saw the combo that included a coffee and two donuts we pounced on it.
The coffee was crap, it tasted like hot milk, not like the cappuccino I ordered. The donuts on the other hand were delicious, or so I was told.

This was the bit Rob left for me. Yes I’m on a diet… but still! I nibbled on it like a mouse and thoroughly enjoyed my little morsel.
Now it’s time for a glass of my Church Road wine I bought back from Napier.
