Staying afloat

After having barely no money each week, after just being paid. I think I may have finally sorted myself out and be heading on a track of proper budgeting and being able to stay afloat.
My mum owned the house we live in and so with the interest rates constantly rising she was finding it hard to pay the repayments. So she asked if I would increase my board from $120-150. Which I did to help her out. But once getting back to Uni full time it became very hard to be able to afford everything I needed, especially with the huge rise in petrol.
So since she has now sold the house and we are renting it from the new owners, her costs have reduced and so I have asked to pay $120 in board again. Thankfully she agreed.
I also received a pay rise during my review yesterday at work. Woohoo! Have gone up by a $1 an hour.
It’s Rob’s birthday in just over two weeks, so need to be saving to take him out for dinner and hopefully suprise him with a gift.

I had to pay my terminal tax today of $98.66, so have paid off one thing I’m due. Still have my speeding fine of $80 to pay, but I can wait until next pay day for that one.

Then I’m clear. No more speeding or creating un-needed expenses!
