Richest fight in boxing history

“De La Hoya vs. Mayweather: The World Awaits” was a boxing super welterweight superfight which took place on May 5, 2007, at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The match was one of the most lucrative boxing matches ever, with over $120 million in generated revenue. Floyd Mayweather Jr. won by split decision over Oscar De La Hoya in 12 rounds.
Now the richest fight in boxing history is on the verge of getting a sequel. Who will be on top this time around?

Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Oscar De La Hoya, who shattered box office records when they met last spring, they are now scheduled for a rematch on September 20th, 2008 once again at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. This will be one of the biggest boxing fights to see. Even my boyfriend, Rob, who doesn’t follow boxing religiously thinks this will be a good fight.

Make sure you get your De La Hoya/Mayweather tickets well in advance! I’m sure it will be a huge sell-out. It will be an edge-of-your-seat fight and would be so much better if there in person than just on television.
If I could get to Las Vegas by September I’d be very tempted to go!
