Bliss

I bought my new toy. So here I am posting my entry on Sunday morning, it’s cold and pouring with rain out, but I’m cozy on the couch with a coffee, honey toast, watching The OC and enjoying my first relaxing moment of the weekend.

Gloria’s birthday party was absolutely gorgeous! I forgot my camera, which is so unlike me. So will have to ask Jo to send me some photos. Zarrin & Kim had other good news, they’re expecting their second child. I’m so happy for them! I knew the next one wouldn’t be far away.
I don’t know how Zarrin does it, I wouldn’t have a clue what to do with a baby right now, so not ready!

Enough of the bliss time, I have to get dressed so my sister, mum and I can go look at a few houses for mum to buy. Then Allie’s taking me shopping for my belated birthday present. Shopping is always good.

TGIF

This has been the longest week. I don’t know if it’s because of what happened on the weekend or if it’s because I’ve worked 9 hours per day Monday through Friday. A combination of the two I’m guessing.
I have plans tonight to go be social with some friends. So I’m looking forward to that. It wont be a wild night, just a catch up, some laughs and of course a lovely glass of wine.

Last night I went shopping with my mum in the mall. We had Japanese for dinner (so yum!) then hit the shops. Coming home with lots of things I didn’t (well kind of did) need, including; pyjamas, underwear and a handbag. Truly the best way to spend a Thursday evening; late night shopping!

Looking forward to the weekend, I have my friend’s daughter’s first birthday party on Saturday. It’ll be cute! I haven’t been to a first birthday party as an adult. So tomorrow will be a first. I’ve heard it’s basically a congratulations party for the parents for making it through a year!
Then after the party I’m off to dinner with friends (who will also be at the first birthday party). These are friends I haven’t seen in a couple of months (all busy and super slack), so it’ll be lovely to see them.

Then Sunday I can hopefully relax. And probably have to clean and do washing. Oh the excitement.

OOOH and maybe even play with my new toy I will probably buy this weekend. An Apple Mac laptop. I knew I wanted a laptop to take to England (when I finally get there) and now my brother-in-law (a keen Mac fan) has convinced me to buy a Mac instead of a PC. They’re having a 17 month interest free period at his work, which Apple don’t normally do. So this is the time to buy. Also means I could have it paid off before Christmas, hence no interest and I wouldn’t have to save lots just before leaving NZ to buy one. So hopefully that all works out and I get myself a new toy.

Girly night

Sex and they City was absolutely fantastic!! I loved every minute. The shoes, clothes, laughs, loves and of course the sex. There was sex every 10 minutes, so to all the guys who think it’s a chick-flick, there’s something in it for you! haha.

I enjoyed the movie so much I would see it again. I told this to my friend at work, Jen, so she asked me to go with her! Yay! Round two next week.

We went for a cocktail first and the bartender convinced us to try his personally created cocktail. I have no idea what it was called, but it contained; 42 Below vodka, whiskey, some other alcohol (that I don’t think he told us the name of), plums (had been soaked in the vodka for months), honey, vanilla and topped with chocolate shavings. Oh. My. God. Heaven! But a lot of alcohol…

My liver (and the rest of my body) will be hating me right now. I’m not normally an alcohol drinker, but lately every event I attend always seems to have alcohol! Since last Thursday I have had at least one glass of alcohol everyday except Monday. Not good for the weight! Time to stop. Oh, except for Friday night, going out with some friends then… hehe. Shh!

Cocktails & chick-flicks

I’m finally counting down the hours until I see the Sex and the City movie! Yes, I must be the only 20-something girl in the world (except my sister and friend) who has not seen it yet!
My sisters and my friend Toni are off to see it tomorrow night, starting with a cocktail at a bar next to the cinema… to get us in the mood! It’ll be great to relax and have some girlie time.

Single

I ended it. I’m OK. Lets just let the wounds heal.

Twenty-four

That is the age I have turned today. I can’t believe it! 24! My 21st party doesn’t seem that long ago. But I’m happy, 24 isn’t a bad age, it’s a fun age!

I have been spoiled rotten today and had lots of lovely messages from family and friends.

I had a fabulous time last night out with friends celebrating the end of our exams for this semester. I thought I hadn’t drunk much, but after recapping this morning I realised I’d had four glasses of wine, a cocktail and a shot of tequila. Not bad.
I woke this morning feeling OK, but have developed a sore head now that I’m at work. I have heard wine can do that to you.

But no complaining from me, just lots of water and neurofen. Because tonight… is round two.

I have work drinks (because it’s Friday - and that’s what we do) at 4pm, dinner with my family (solid food - only had a piece of pizza bread last night) at 6.30pm, then have Annabelle’s birthday party after 8pm! The same crowd from last night are going so I’m sure we’ll have as much fun as we did last night. Uni life has hit it’s high. It best stay here for as long as possible.

Now off to raid the work first aid kit for neurofen….

Too much time studying together

This morning while talking to my friend Jacques on msn, going through multiple choice practice quizzes for our final exam this semester, Marketing. He sends me one to try:

Jacques says: If Nestle forced Coles’ grocery stores to place all of its products in the stores’ most favourable locations, it would be:
A. conflict.
B. captains.
C. leadership.
D. cooperation.
E. tying agreements.

Bronnknee says: i got that one wrong!!

Jacques says: the answer it says it is D

Jacques says: cooperation…

Bronnknee says: i think i picked E

Bronnknee says: its not cooperation when its FORCED
(split second after)
Jacques says: yeah but how is it cooperation if nestle forced

Bronnknee says: lol exactly
(split second after)
Jacques says: yeah exactly

Jacques says: lol

Bronnknee says: jinx
(split second after)
Jacques says: jinx

Bronnknee says: HAHA

Jacques says: hahah

Jacques says: that was random

Bronnknee says: haha

Bronnknee says: sure was

Starting to lose our minds. Bring on the holiday break! At 5pm tonight I will officially be relaxed, with a wine in one hand and some laughs with friends.

Thirsty for celebrations.

I ended up going to work today. I have only one exam left, on Thursday, and it’s marketing which is fairly cruisey and I’m feeling confident about it. So after making up a few excuses in my head I realised I had no real ones for not going to work. I’m pleased I worked, means I’ll be richer on payday! Always a bonus.

So tomorrow is marketing study day. Have to try not to get distracted (I feel like I’ve already finished) and sit down and learn the stuff! Then it’s celebration time!! End of exams and my birthday celebrations.
I can already taste that delicious first sip of wine, relaxing in the (hopefully) sun, thinking of the last three weeks that have been and those four exams I am sure to have passed (fingers crossed), ahh heaven!

…………………………………………

I went for my daily walk tonight, after work, and was totally pissed when my (new - six weeks old) mp3 player turned off. Just turned off. No, that battery wasn’t dead. That’s what I thought too. But I tried turning it back on and it wouldn’t. So I kept going, music-less *sob*, and tried it after about five minutes. It turned on!! Woohoo! Walking..walking… DAMNIT. Turned back off. I get home and try and show my family how the damn thing died on me. And what does it do?? WORK!!! I keep trying it out.. and the damn thing works fine. Thought I had an excuse to go shopping for a new mp3 player. :(

…………………………………………

Now time to get rid of this black nail polish, it’s chipped off in parts and looks oh-so-classy. Back to red I think.
